Harmattan 2019
Diseñada y confeccionada en Senegal, la última colección, Harmattan 2019, es un homenaje al profesional moderno que viaja por todo el mundo y necesita un vestuario versátil que se adapte a sus entornos cambiantes. Esta colección utiliza tejidos deportivos como neopreno y licra, combinados con algodones y linos en tonos azules y beige, que evocan el Dakar durante la temporada de Harmattan. Las siluetas definen y evitan la constricción, desde chándales y pantalones de corte bajo hasta kimonos y camisas. Todas estas prendas se adaptan a las necesidades de quien las lleva, añadiendo un toque artístico a su día a día.
“Coming in from Dakar with a very clear concept in terms of design and what we’re bringing to the table, and then getting to Abidjan, where we shot the collection, and being struck with a different reality makes you consider if Mwami still has its place here, and if it does, then how do we make it adaptable for every climate?” Thus, whether you’re in Dakar with its warm, dusty days and cool sea breeze nights, in Abidjan where it’s hot and humid, in Joburg in the middle of cold winter or in Nairobi with its bright sun, the Mwami wardrobe will cater to your every need.
